Indications

Used for protection against brucellosis in female and male lambs and kids aged 3-6 months. In nationwide whole-population vaccination programmes, or when needed because of disease risk, it is also given to non-pregnant adult females and adult males.

Use during pregnancy:

Not recommended in pregnant animals because it may cause abortion.

Composition

One vaccine dose (1 drop = 50 µl):

Attenuated Brucella melitensis Rev 1: 0.5-2 x10⁹ CFU/dose live microorganisms.

Dosage and administration

Given conjunctivally as 1 drop (50±2 µl) to female and male lambs and kids aged 3-6 months.

The administration is the same for adult females and adult males.

Storage and shelf life

Store at +2/+8°C in the dark.

Shelf life: 2 years

Withdrawal period

Meat: 90 days

Presentation

25 doses of freeze-dried vaccine with 1.25 ml of diluent and a dropper, 50 doses with 2.5 ml of diluent and a dropper, 100 doses with 5 ml of diluent and a dropper, 200 doses with 10 ml of diluent and a dropper, packed with silicone stoppers and aluminium caps.
