Indications

Used for protection against brucellosis in healthy female cattle from 3 months of age.

Use during pregnancy:

Do not use in male animals, or in pregnant animals because it may cause abortion. In disease outbreaks, however, it may also be given to animals in the last months of pregnancy.

Composition

One vaccine dose (1 drop = 50 µl):

Attenuated Brucella abortus S 19 5-10 x10⁹ CFU/dose

Enzymatic digest of proteins / casein 0.8 mg/dose

Sucrose 1.6 mg/dose

Sodium glutamate 0.32 mg/dose

HEPES 0.01 mmol/dose

Dosage and administration

The freeze-dried vaccine is dissolved and homogenised with the blue diluent supplied with it. A calibrated dropper is fitted to the bottle of reconstituted vaccine to make it ready for use.

Given conjunctivally as 50±2 µl (1 drop) to healthy female cattle from 3 months of age. Animals vaccinated for the first time receive a second administration of the same dose 6-8 months later.

In the dark, at refrigerator temperature (+2/+8°C)

Withdrawal period

Vaccinated animals should not be slaughtered for 90 days.
